Perspectives offers remote therapy services for situations that may prevent an in-person session.
Perspectives Therapy Services is pleased to offer remote telehealth services for situations that may prevent an in-person therapy session. Circumstances that may require these services include, but are not limited to:
- Illness or Health-Related Barriers
- Inclement Weather
- Geographical Distance due to Travel
Telemental health services provide a convenient and effective way to stay engaged in treatment, lending to symptom relief and successful outcomes. We care about your privacy and confidentiality, and therefore, use the telehealth platform Doxy.me to connect with you via online video-conferencing. This system is HIPAA-compliant and secure (encrypted).
How can I begin telemental health services at PTS?
If you’re new to our practice and would like to schedule your first appointment– whether in-person or as a telehealth session– please call our main line 517-882-3732 to speak with an intake specialist who will match you with the ideal therapist. You may indicate your preference for telehealth at that time.
If you’re a current Perspectives client, please contact your therapist to let them know you’re interested in telehealth services. They will get you set up with what you need.
Does insurance cover telemental health services?
Most insurance plans are covering telehealth audio-visual (i.e. Doxy.me) sessions during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. However, it remains best for clients to call their insurance companies regarding their individual policies before assuming coverage.
What do I need for telehealth therapy?
Chances are, you already have the equipment you’d need to participate in a telemental health visit.
Here are the basics:
- PC computer, laptop, smartphone, or tablet with internet connection
- Email address (to receive an e-invite from your provider)
- Microphone & webcam (if not included in mobile device or computer)
