Philosophy
My clinical practice has been broad, and I have worked with adults and adolescents experiencing a wide range of difficulties. My passion is to help people heal after experiencing trauma. I have worked extensively with adults and adolescents who have experienced physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, as well as neglect or abandonment. I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, depression, substance use, and other addictions for both men and women. I utilize a psychodynamic approach, which examines your past experiences and belief systems, along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you replace unhelpful ways of thinking and coping with difficult emotions. My goal is to help you move past your pain and guide you to feeling whole again.
Personal Statement
Some days, we look in the mirror and wonder how we got to this point. When life gets off track from what we had dreamed, it can be healing to examine the path we took to get here and explore the best steps to move toward living our most fulfilling life. My goal in therapy is to help you examine experiences, beliefs, relationships, thoughts, and feelings – and to identify changes that you can make to work toward your goals. I want to provide you with a safe place to find yourself and lay the foundation for a life of fulfillment. I know making the decision to begin therapy takes courage, and I strive to provide the necessary tools to help you grow in the direction you are seeking.
About me
What do you love doing more than anything in the world?
Being outside in nature, no matter the season.
What is the self-care strategy you use most often?
I love doing yoga for self-care. Sometimes, when I haven’t been practicing yoga regularly, I can feel it in my body and my mind that I need a real tune up.
What was your dream job in elementary school?
I wanted to be a detective, which led to my interest in Forensic Psychology.
Describe your ideal vacation. Has it happened yet?
I would love to go on a Mediterranean cruise some day!
