Welcome to “Way-To-Go Wednesday”! This is your weekly reminder that small steps toward wellness are still steps! Every Wednesday, we will post a few tips and thoughts to help you improve and inspire your mind, body, and spirit. There is no time like the present to create change- let it begin today!

MIND- The mind is brilliant and busy. Let’s settle the mind today by pausing and taking a deep breath. Breathing is an acknowledgement of life! Taking a few deep breaths before you begin a new task creates calmness and allows you to refocus your thoughts. If your mind is racing and your thoughts are throwing a tantrum, take a second to just breathe.

BODY- Our bodies require both rest and activity. A great way to get a little more activity is to lift those legs! Start by sitting straight up in a chair with your feet flat on the floor. Then lift one leg straight up in front of you, parallel to the floor, and hold it for a few seconds. Return your leg to the original position, and repeat those steps with your other leg. This exercise is targeting your quads.

SPIRIT- If you find yourself feeling down and uninspired, a good dose of giving will pull you out of the “blah blah” blues. Go ahead and give: a gift, a hug, some encouragement, even a smile will do. Giving from the heart will do more for you than you think. Try it, and let us know how it goes. It is in the gift of giving that we find our gifts.

Even if you didn’t take a small wellness step yet, you can do so right now! You always have the power to make a different choice. And, if nothing else, you made it halfway through the week. Way-To-Go, you!
